Bundesliga insider reveals shocking truth about Everton’s new signing Adam Aznou

Everton have announced the acquisition of Bayern Munich left-back Adam Aznou, with the 19-year-old Moroccan set to join David Moyes’ squad following an £8 million agreement with the Bundesliga champions. The move brings a player with significant promise but relatively limited first-team experience to Merseyside.

Aznou began his football journey at CF Damm before making the leap to Barcelona’s La Masia academy in 2019. His time at Barcelona spanned three years, after which he transferred to Bayern Munich in 2022. He eventually made his senior debut for Bayern in November 2024 during a 3-0 victory over Union Berlin.

Despite his evident technical ability, Aznou has only made four appearances for Bayern’s first team. He also spent part of the 2024-25 season on loan at Real Valladolid, where he played 13 matches in La Liga. This limited exposure leaves some uncertainty regarding his readiness for the Premier League.

Renowned broadcaster Hatchard commented on the transfer, sharing his cautious optimism: “We’ve seen so little of him as a first-team player at Bayern. He’s played a handful of games in La Liga. He’s clearly talented and good on the ball, but he has very little in the way of a track record.”

Internationally, Aznou has earned three caps for the Moroccan national team. His move to Everton drew attention from compatriot and Paris Saint-Germain star Achraf Hakimi, who sent a congratulatory message following the announcement.

The prospect of Aznou fulfilling his potential at Everton excites supporters, particularly given the pedigree of clubs that have previously secured his services. Moyes will be eager for the young defender to adjust swiftly to the demands of English football and become a key figure for the Toffees.

If Aznou can translate his promise into consistent performances, Everton could benefit immensely from a transfer that—while not without risk—offers significant upside. The club will be hoping that this investment pays off, turning the young Moroccan into a standout player on Merseyside.
