Aberdeen revels in Celtic defeat and blasts Rangers over alleged ‘corruption’ with shocking fixture announcement prank

Aberdeen has released a comedic video montage poking fun at their Premiership rivals to announce the upcoming season’s fixtures. The humorous clip, shared on Instagram, has delighted many fans, including some from opposing teams. However, there’s concern it could motivate their opponents when they meet on the field.

The video includes a jab at Celtic, featuring their captain, Callum McGregor, in tears after a recent Scottish Cup penalty shootout loss. Aberdeen’s schedule highlights the Hoops visiting Pittodrie on matchday two. For their match against Rangers, Aberdeen used a controversial clip of John Brown criticizing a past decision as “corrupt.”

The Rangers had been fined £3000 by the Scottish Football Association for that comment, which led to a strong response from the club. When showcasing Dundee United, Aberdeen highlighted tweets from the Tannadice club about qualifying for the Europa League, contrasting it with their relegation to the Conference League.

Ending with a clip of Spanish comedian Juan Joya Borja, known for his infectious laugh, the video also poked fun at other teams. Dundee’s new manager Steven Pressley admitted he wasn’t the man for silverware, drawing criticism. Falkirk’s clip mocked young fans, while St Mirren’s involved Celtic taking over their shop.

Aberdeen’s video also featured Hibs, showing Jamie McGrath holding the Scottish Cup as fans chanted about the team’s struggles. While many fans appreciated the humor, others cautioned that such boldness might backfire. One fan commented, “Fair play, that is class,” but another warned, “Bold. What could possibly go wrong?”
