Celtic supporter organisation calls for Michael Nicholson’s removal following transfer setback with boycott threatened

Management at Celtic Park faces mounting criticism this season following several setbacks that have angered supporters. The club’s decision-making has drawn persistent complaints from fan organizations throughout the campaign. Tensions escalated when hundreds of supporters gathered outside the stadium after a match, demanding changes among leadership figures including chief executive Michael Nicholson, finance officer Chris McKay, and principal shareholder Dermot Desmond.

The Celtic Fans Collective, representing more than 500 supporter clubs globally, has emerged as a vocal force against current administration policies. This organized movement has coordinated significant fan pressure on the board. Internal staffing changes have occurred, with Paul Tisdale departing as Head of Football Operations following the troubled hiring of Wilfried Nancy. However, recent transfer market activity has reignited fan frustration despite manager Martin O’Neill securing six loan signings.

The Collective has issued a forceful statement demanding specific changes at the club. Three demands form the basis of their campaign: removal of chief executive Michael Nicholson, reinstatement of the Green Brigade supporter group, and restoration of media access for all fan organizations covering both men’s and women’s teams. A boycott of Saturday’s match against Dundee has been called for, with supporters invited to demonstrate their dissatisfaction.

The fan organization cited ongoing grievances within the supporter base. Supporters face unjust bans while fan media remains excluded from coverage opportunities. The Collective had previously offered to meet with chairman Brian Wilson four weeks earlier to discuss unity, but this invitation was not accepted. Despite this rejection, the organization remains open to future dialogue with club leadership.

The movement plans additional protest actions in coming weeks if demands are not addressed. Fan organizations continue coordinating further demonstrations to pressure management into meaningful change. The Collective emphasizes that supporters seek decisive action and restored communication channels between the club and its fanbase.
