Tottenham faces constraints regarding player departures this January window. Mateta would provide Tottenham with aerial strength and consistent goal-scoring threat to support Dominic Solanke at centre forward. This arrangement would allow Mathys Tel to operate in attacking midfield roles or wide positions, where he competes alongside Wilson Odobert and Xavi Simons for opportunities.

Juventus urgently requires attacking depth as their striker situation deteriorates. Dusan Vlahovic faces injury until March and is expected to depart when his contract expires. Additionally, Lois Openda has managed only two goals since arriving on loan from Leipzig.
