Celtic: This talented forward denies talks with the club while opening the door to a European move
Jeong Ho-yeon, the South Korean football sensation, has put to rest any speculation of a potential transfer to Celtic. As the window draws to a close, it’s clear that the Scottish Premiership champions will not be adding Jeong to their roster this season. Despite previous connections and his expressed desire to experience Scottish football, Jeong remains with K-League for now.
The 23-year-old forward had caught the eye of many during the summer when he openly discussed his ambition to join fellow countrymen at Parkhead. However, no formal move materialized then. With Celtic’s need for squad reinforcements evident as they push for another title win under Brendan Rodgers, rumors swirled once again about Jeong making the leap mid-season.
Yet, in an interview with Jeonnam Ilbo, Jeong clarified his current stance: “I haven’t heard anything about a move to Celtic.” He did express a continuous dream of challenging himself abroad and sees such an opportunity as crucial for his development as a player.
Celtic fans are currently coping without Reo Hatate due to Asian Cup commitments but can take solace in their strong midfield lineup. The focus is on strengthening other areas of the team before considering further additions to an already robust engine room.
As Jeong keeps his options open for future European ventures, Celtic supporters remain hopeful that Rodgers will make strategic moves before the transfer window shuts – ensuring their beloved club remains competitive on all fronts.
