Bournemouth target Everton’s winger prospect as Semenyo replacement bid emerges unexpectedly
Bournemouth has identified Leicester City winger Abdul Fatawu as a potential replacement for Antoine Semenyo, who is expected to join Manchester City. The Ghana international represents a direct successor option at the Vitality Stadium as the club prepares for life without its star attacker.
Fatawu was previously linked with Everton during the summer transfer window, but negotiations fell through at that time. Leicester demanded £30 million for the 21-year-old, a price tag that discouraged both the Toffees and Sunderland from pursuing a deal. The winger remained at the Championship club despite interest from multiple Premier League sides.
The young forward has delivered solid performances in the current campaign, recording four goals and six assists across 23 Championship matches. His productive output and potential have attracted Bournemouth’s attention as they seek to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the second half of the season.
Everton manager David Moyes faces potential challenges in his squad, particularly if Iliman Ndiaye departs for a Champions League club. Tyler Dibling has not yet demonstrated the capability to fully replace the Senegal international, leaving the Merseysiders vulnerable in their attacking department during the remainder of the campaign.
Semenyo’s imminent transfer to Manchester City creates uncertainty regarding Jack Grealish’s future at Everton. The England international may become surplus to requirements at Manchester City with Semenyo arriving, potentially allowing the Toffees to negotiate a permanent deal. Grealish has established himself as a fan favourite on Merseyside and could represent a valuable long-term addition if negotiations progress favorably.
