Chelsea: The 5 players that are on the club’s transfer wishlist

Chelsea’s search for a new striker has led them to consider five potential targets, including Brentford’s Ivan Toney and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen. However, acquiring either of these players would require the club to significantly increase their wage offerings.

The Blues are currently struggling in the Premier League, sitting 12th and facing the possibility of missing out on Champions League qualification. This could force them to offer higher salaries to attract top talent.

Despite signing Nicolas Jackson in the summer, Chelsea have not seen an improvement in goal-scoring, with Jackson netting only six goals in 15 league games. Manager Mauricio Pochettino is eager to bolster his attacking options as he looks to turn around the team’s fortunes.

While both Toney and Osimhen are high on Chelsea’s list, they come with hefty price tags. Brentford is determined to keep Toney, who has also drawn interest from other major clubs like Arsenal, Tottenham, and Manchester United. His transfer fee could reach £100 million.

Napoli is expected to demand a similar amount for Osimhen, making him another expensive prospect for Chelsea. The club may need to break its current financial approach if it hopes to secure such marquee signings.

If these deals prove too costly, Chelsea might shift focus toward more affordable alternatives like Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres or young talents Roony Bardghji from Copenhagen and Antonio Nusa from Club Brugge.

Gyokeres has been impressive since moving from Coventry, scoring 15 goals in 18 games. With scouts already monitoring him closely, he could be a viable option when the transfer window reopens.

Overall, Chelsea faces a challenging task ahead as they aim to reinforce their squad without disrupting their wage structure excessively while competing against rivals for highly sought-after strikers.
