Everton: A Bundesliga prodigy in the sights and he could land as early as this winter!
Everton FC’s pursuit of Borussia Monchengladbach’s young prodigy, Winsley Boteli, has become more challenging as Inter Milan have now shown interest in the player. Inter Live reported on November 11 that the Italian club is keen on signing the 17-year-old talent.
Boteli has been under Everton and Juventus’ radar for a while now, with both clubs reportedly sending scouts to observe his performance. The youngster has an impressive record of scoring 12 goals in just 11 matches, making him the top scorer in the Under-19 Bundesliga.
Everton’s recent signings indicate their focus on nurturing future talents, such as Youssef Chermiti. However, attracting Boteli might prove difficult considering competition from Serie A giants like Inter Milan and Juventus.
The Swiss teenager has been performing exceptionally well at Gladbach at age-grade level which hasn’t gone unnoticed by these football heavyweights. It remains uncertain whether Everton can compete against them for Boteli’s signature.
This development comes as no surprise given Boteli’s remarkable goal-scoring spree this season, including multiple hat-tricks and braces. Despite having Dominic Calvert-Lewin back regularly, Everton could still benefit from strengthening their forward line-up.
The Toffees are hopeful about securing Boteli this winter, who already boasts international experience playing for his country at Under-17s level. If unsuccessful, it would be prudent for Everton to start scouting alternative options soon.
